Conservation and Education
Conservation education is the process of influencing people's attitudes, emotions, knowledge and behaviors about wildlife and wild places. This is accomplished through the efforts of trained educators and interpreters, who use a variety of techniques, methods, and assessments to reconnect people with the natural world.
The Conservation Education (CE) program helps people of all ages understand and appreciate our country's natural resources and how to conserve those resources for future generations. Conservation education Through structured educational experiences and activities aimed at different age groups and populations, conservation education enables people to realize how natural resources and ecosystems affect each other and how resources can be used with prudence.
Through conservation education, people develop the critical thinking they need to understand the complexities of ecological problems. It also encourages people to act on their own to conserve natural resources and use them responsibly.
