Located a few minutes from the historical town of San Miguel de Allende, El Charco del Ingenio is a Botanical Garden and outstanding Nature Preserve. It also displays a vast botanical collection of cacti and other Mexican plants, many of which are rare, threatened or in danger of extinction.




LEARN ABOUT THE PRESERVE

Departing from a visitor center, a network of surveyed paths allows to discover the preserve’s highlights, such as plants’ displays, scenic lookouts, bird sanctuaries, vestiges from the past and an interactive children’s garden. El Charco is also a unique place for strolling, jogging, hiking, meditating or simply enjoying Nature.

ACTIVITIES AT EL CHARCO

The Botanical Garden holds environmental education programs aimed to the youngest, as well as a wide range of activities including meetings, lectures, workshops, guided visits, concerts and ceremonies, reflecting the multicultural character of San Miguel.
